Within a company, the role of a consultant is to facilitate change through a process of working with leadership on research, planning, and plan implementation. To assist in the facilitation of change within the Sanderson Soaps company, it would require a need for a partnership through collaboration with company leadership. In an article written by Barnes and Scott (2012), it was stated that it is important to understand that because there are multiple leadership styles, it requires expertise, influence and personal skills to facilitate any change(Barnes & Scott, 2012). A consultant may often need to approach the leadership of an organization and work in collaboration with them for any changes to be made, and to guide them through the process of making and implementing a plan. Simply dictating changes can be ineffective and can lead to a more negative corporate culture for some organizations.
