In many workspace’ integrity is an attribute that employers look for in their employees.Integrity is defined as the “act of being honest while also having strong moral principles” (Weber & Gray,2017). It is about being true to yourself as well as your environment in a manner that does not nontarnishable inner beliefs. In the military integrity is one on the core values that personnel are expected to adhere, mainly because it goes hand in hand with trust. When someone is viewed as someone who does not have integrity it is difficult to trust that they will be honest in trying situations. That being said we live in a society where perception is just as unyielding as the truth. Therefore, it safe to say that our views on those who have and those who do not have integrity is dependent on our individual views and biases. Our views and biases are based on our background, personal experience and cultural context. These three elements will impact one’s decisions and actions without them knowing it. I believe that understanding biases as it relates to integrity will allow us to view ourselves critically.

We are all bias at some point, it will always happen in time but becoming aware of it and addressing it will not only benefit one’s self but everyone around them.Excluding others from meetings only makes things worse and hold’s yourself back from promotions and providing your thoughts. When one needs to have a meeting making sure I am pleasant with everyone and I give everyone the amount of time they deserve.I also believe that if I disagree with anyone that giving them a negative response only makes them unhappy and I should give them a constructive response instead.I feel at times that my job at the company just doesn’t matter to most others there.I try every day to look past the individuals who do not take what I say seriously and focus on the individuals who work best with me and treat me with respect and honesty.Being promoted has been a desire of mine the last year and I have been focusing hard on this the last year.I have taken man different directions to avoid confrontation with others as to no hinder my chances of any promotion. I also have spent more time focusing on items with my boss and completing them as a top priority and keeping others in the company that can help me happy as well.
