According to Shaffer and Kipp (2012), this combination of parenting style is common amongst Hispanic cultures. As I reflect on my childhood and how my parents chose to parent, I realize that their authoritarian style of parenting has affected how I choose to parent my son now that I am a mom. When it comes to cultural variations, we are proud.
