introduction: After much searching for the data set because I had a blonde moment… I choose data set one. The reason that I choose this data set is that it falls in line with the psychology degree that I am working towards. I am getting a degree in child and adolescent psychology. I also already have an associate’s in early education. The involved parties in the data set were infants. With the data provided, I should be able to figure out the average age that an infant started crawling, along with whether or not the average temperature has anything to do with when the infants start to crawl. I am not sure what was done to find the data for this because I have tried 5 different ways of trying to find it in the school library and I can’t. I would assume that it was performed ethically following APA guidelines. By getting parental consent and I would assume that no children were harmed. I don’t think that there would be any ethical issues with this because all they were researching was when infants start to crawl and whether or not the temperature affected when the infants started crawling. You must always follow APA ethical guidelines. If children are involved have parents sign consent forms, and make sure that you explain exactly what you are doing so that the parents understand.

If adults are involved get consent forms signed.I am currently pursuing my BA in Psychology with a concentration in Addictions, so I selected scenario 4 for my final project. Scenario 4 is designed for addictions, which falls in line with my concentration. The involved parties presented in data set 4 was a study group of 36individuals recovering from alcohol addiction. The participants were separated into two groups. Group one was a treatment group that received the medication called Antique. Group two has received a placebo making them a control group. After the study was completed, the participants completed the Obsessive-Compulsive Drinking Scale (OCDS).OCDS is a survey that measures thoughts about alcohol. Researchers hypothesized that the OCDS would show the effectiveness of Antiquil in treating the withdrawal and craving symptoms of alcohol in recovering addicts during the non-drinking periods. One question that can be answered by the data set is, “will the medication Antiquil decrease the withdrawal and craving symptoms of alcohol with little to no side effects?” Another question that can be answered is, “will attrition affect the study?”
