In your future endeavors, how do you think you might find yourself applying statistical concepts? I believe that I will be using these concepts on a regular basis in my field of study. As a Psychology major after I graduate, I will have to work at schools, hospitals, or individual practices. I will have to lead a group of individuals in counseling sessions. My job involves talking to people and fostering positive mental health and personal growth. I will have to develop and implement treatment plans and therapeutic processes. This is when the statistical concepts come in. I will need to know which medications and/or therapies will be best for everyone.

I will find myself applying statistical concepts in a graduate program. I plan to pursue a MA in forensic psychology and then a PsyD. in clinical psychology. The foundational concepts presented in this class will help me be successful in those programs. I also hope to one day participate in research that will benefit the field of forensic psychology and criminal justice and develop intervention strategies that can reduce recidivism in individuals with personality traits that are indicative of psychopathy and sociopathy. I can use the foundational concepts to conduct correlational studies to determine if there are linear relationships between the. Under what conditions might you find yourself creating an Excel pie chart, running a correlation, or interpreting a t-test? At work, for instance, in graduate school, or in research? I do not know if I will ever have an opportunity to create my own unless I do my own study. However, interpreting charts, t-tests, etc. would be almost daily.

Since researchers will never stop trying to make their theories into facts and new methods of treatments are discovered. Where might you stumble on misinterpretations of statistical concepts, and what (correct) interpretations will you insert instead? Statistical concepts are constantly being thrown around to benefit the company, person, research team, etc., that will benefit from it. I will have to read the study and when I see there is no direct explanation for why one thing correlates to another, further study (not outright dismissal) is warranted. I will have to look for different research on the same topic and search out any correlations. My favorite has always been the correlation between ice cream and death. It always makes me chuckle when I hear or read it.
