Montessori style is a specific child-centered method of education that involves child-led activities (referred to as “work”), classrooms with children of varying ages and teachers who encourage independence among their pupils.
It gives children freedoms that aren’t given in the normal classroom structure and really changes the learning atmosphere.
With the types of kids I deal with this isn’t ideal and seems to me to be a better fit for older kids specifically in the trade school/Job corps atmosphere.

Even though those environments are looked at as last chance types of education options. But the approach should definitely have great percentages of benefiting the kids because it’s student chosen and student driven.
Having the different age groups together and students with different learningcapacities I think will have a negative effect in such a free unstructured atmosphere.
Kids that are driven and self-directed will thrive especially when they can concentrate on one sole subject. But if the proper time is given kids can develop management and independence skills.
