In general, my personality is easy going and I have traits that make me a likable person. I have two main strengths that seem to be very beneficial in the workplace – I’m a critical thinker with great analytical skills and I have excellent interpersonal skills that are great for building and maintaining relationships.
These strengths have built a good reputation for me and would be useful in my role as Key Holder. Having analytical skills will allow me to effectively lead my team because I’m able to quickly assess and find solutions to problems and my team would trust me to make good decisions that could affect the organization and its employees.
My weaknesses on the contrary, are things that can be detrimental to my success in my new role if not improved. For instance, I can be timid and non-confrontational.
As a leader, I have to be able to be the one on the frontline and I cannot be intimidated by certain managerial duties such as terminations, evaluations, and constructive criticism. Another weakness I need to improve on is that I can be a bit withdrawn and a lot of times I prefer to work individually rather than in a group.
This is not a good example for a leader to set because a leader is supposed to promote team work rather than shy away. I would need to lead by example for all aspects to how I would want my team members to be.
