Life as a nurse is quite intriguing, especially when putting into consideration the daily activities as well as interactions of the day. This life, however, can be challenging as well, and in need of skills and experience to effectively deal with them (Solomon, 2019). The daily experiences of a nurse involve meeting people of different cultural backgrounds and beliefs. Those nurses who are at a higher pedestal in terms of experience are advantaged to deal with diverse patients in the modern setting. The cultural aspect of different societies puts more value on the family as well as religion, which then significantly affects the way these people address daily life experiences such as health. As a result of the interaction between different communities, some people can combine different cultures and religions. The interaction with different cultures enables people to accept some aspects of other cultures while rejecting some in both their cultures and those of others. The ability of people to change their faith to another as well as accept and embrace other cultures is evident in the marriages between different faiths(Solomon, 2019).

Individuals would only change some beliefs, but not all; there are some beliefs that are strongly formed on the basis of a person’s life, and they easily sway the decision-making process of such individuals. Based on the nature of the health problem that a patient is facing, they may lose their beliefs in the course of seeking treatment for the illnesses. In the world of diverse faiths, patients have some choices of health practice as prescribed by their faith. And on this basis, some patients would reject certain treatments. It is in today’s world a reality that patients do not just receive any treatment without any say. George has a disease condition by name amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) that is gradually deteriorating his health. Sadly, George would not be lucky to tell the other of his condition as well as request his needs despite his knowledge of it. The disease is gradually killing George, and therefore, there are life-ending decisions that one would make at this stage of life. He is aware of the rate of the disease’s progression, and out of his own volition, he has opted to go for euthanasia. The above is the theme of this paper as it seeks to explore and elaborate on the global perception of Christianity and Buddhism when it comes to making life-end decisions.
